Amnesty International

Amnesty International

Brief
In many countries throughout the world eveyday actions we take for granted like posting to a blog or sending emails can lead to censorship, imprisonment and torture. Amnesty International came to us looking for a complete solution for their 'Internet repression' campaign. Like many non profits the budget was small but their goal and passion was large.

Solution
Double happy came up with a concept, design and production. The idea needed to be simple, allowing a quick photo shoot, poster creation and production using nothing more than black and white laser printing. We came up with a campaign based around everyday objects being used to censor innocent looking people. The message used the idea of censoring parts of one idea to produce another with a conflicting message as the outcome. Production was a quick photo shoot with an Amnesty volunteer, hours of photoshop time and final production on black and white laser.

Outcome
The final publication was distributed throughout New Zealand schools with a huge rise in public awarness of the issue.
