Brief
Madwax needed two new packing designs for their 2008 range, 'White lightning' and their new premium bar, 'Gold Rush'. Both designs needed to be original and reflective of the Mad Wax attitude. Raw, street wise yet well considered and perfectly crafted.
Solution
White lightning usess a balanced asymmetric layout and a bespoke typeface to convey the ideas of ice and lightning. Precision, speed and movement.
Gold rush is a collaborative piece with the illustration done by Matty Hunkin. Gold Rush takes a traditional symmetrical design and adds a twist of the asymmetric using logo placement to tie in both pieces and helping to balance the skier illustration.
Outcome
Both designs were loved by Mad Wax with another two bar designs in the works for a 2009 release.
